Just got back from a round and used this tip. It improved my ball striking and all but eliminated my slicing problem.

I have had this lesson at least 8 times, and paid $400 to hear it. I didn’t do it, didn’t understand why you would even do it, and I remained with a huge sway. In a minute an a half you have explained it so I get it. It has helped my swing a ton. And helped me square the club face. THANKS!

I personally struggle with my right hip going up and getting in the way. Trying to keep it more rotational and not lateral. Great video explanation.

    very nice advice and explanation.

  15. viola128 says:

great tip…thanks a bunch !! i think this will solve some of my problem

  16. deeferamoringo says:

starting off with your weight on the inside of your back foot is a good set-up to then create space without thinking about it on the take away

  17. jafalad says:

This is exactly what I’m doing right now: too much lateral movement, coming over the top, hitting shots fat and getting very frustrated!
I played in the club champs lat weekend and shot two 95s to miss qualifying by 10 shots.
Yesterday, with some work on my pivot, I shot 80 off the same back tees-my lowest round ever!
This is a really good explanation so thanks for posting.
What are the best drills to sort this problem out please?

    bravo Brady !

the rear view is SEVERELY underused, unappreciated.

& the earlier posters are right on –
your explaination takes < 1 minute,
& will cure a lifetime of struggle! thx

Great job. Pivot is the most overlooked aspect of the game. I think if an average golfer worked on his/her pivot they can dramatically improve their game in a very short time.

Having a good grip and posture is all important, but if one tends to sway their hips, meaning not loading properly against the right leg, one can never be a consistent player.

Proper pivot is what separates an avarage golfer from the pros.

  20. medlock01 says:

awesome lesson, should be the 3rd thing taught to new golfers ( after grip and posture). Helped my game a lot.

    Thanks

    best lesson ive seen

  22. thefightbeginswithu says:

2 days ago i did this shot 75 today i was off back to the sway past the line shown here 83 , very important lesson

  23. jessdmac says:

The reason why a hip sway usually results to a slice is because the swing has reciprocal motions backswing and downswing. A hip sway in the backswing is followed by a hip spinout in the downswing. If there is one secret in the golf swing this is it—- A PROPER HIP TURN THROUGH IN THE DOWNSWING IN WHICH THE RIGHT KNEE IS POINTING TOWARDS THE BALL OF THE LEFT FOOT TOWARDS IMPACT TO FINISH WITH THE RIGHT FOOT IN TIP TOE.

  24. Kevlaraz says:

Golf tips don’t get better than this.

  25. 1664Louis says:

What a tip, this made such a difference to my normal slice! Great advice thanks!
